EVEN DOING CHORES CAN RESULT IN FAMILY TIME

I speak to my kids as often as I possibly can....I wanted to talk to them about their chores. I noticed something Very interesting one Saturday morning...We were all in different parts of the house cleaning......TALK ABOUT A LIGHT BULB MOMENT....Our weekends are so busy here.

STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP

There is always a full list of things to do. Our children have their Friday chores and laundry needs to be done, the house needs to be cleaned, errands need to be run...STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP

I thought about it, If everybody is running around separately there is a great probability that disconnect could creep its ugly head....NOT IN MY HOUSE...

DON'T YOU WISH IT WAS AS EASY AS SIMPLY PUSHING A BUTTON

My husband Patrick and I decided that instead we would do some of the weekend chores with our kids... I know this is a little unorthodox but for all of you that follow this blog, you know I do what's best for MY FAMILY.

This approach as great as it sounds, may not work in your home.

I figured if I am doing the chores WITH THEM I can use that time to talk and communicate with them as we worked TOGETHER.

I realize that as parents in 2012 we watch our kids everyday FACE DIFFICULT TIMES. As each new problem arises we have used the TEACHINGS OF THE BIBLE in our pursuit of raising them the best way we possibly can. The Bible encourages parents to take time to communicate with their children.

Together Patrick and I are finding ways to use each moment as a opportunity to teach our children.

  4. Good morning Devoted wife:
I am still laughing at your comment. I was thinking about my chore list at the age of 11 and how drastically it differs from my own 11 year old son. Are we slowly getting soft and allowing our children to dictate their own chores?
Whatever the situation, my kids have chores because I believe they worked well for us growing up. If I felt that there was no lesson in this process, then I would have to re-evaluate my choices....Again, I always say that what works for my family may or may not work for yours. Your circumstances may be different.
As for watching television and texting...ALL KIDS text (smile)....
thanks for your input and come back real soon!!

    1. Good Evening to you NAVYISMYLIFE2010..I was glad to see that old school teachings are still alive and well in America. My grandmother was a remarkable woman that raised us all from the teachings of the bible. Even today all these years later her teachings, her love and her prayers still fill my heart.
I remember each prayer she ever said and I know its because of my grandmother, that I am the woman I am today. Thank you for stopping here and sharing your views. They are welcome here and I would love to hear more stories about the teachings of the Bible. Feel free to share your story sometimes in the comment section.
      Until then, God Bless.

    1. Hello Anonymous...I have to disagree, not all kids are Lazy..Some have really great work ethic...Maybe your own personal experiences have drawn you to that conclusion, but I pray that you will open up your heart and see that our children are learning to be more responsible.

God has blessed me with some WONDERFUL people in my life!

MY CRAZY LIFE BLOG
BY LASHON CAMPBELL

God has blessed me with WONDERFUL friends

Have you ever stopped for a moment and said a thank you to God for all the wonderful people that he has placed in your life. I truly believe that you should. At least remind yourself of these blessings as often as possible. God has really blessed me to know some WONDERFUL people in my life.

One of the GREATEST joys I have encountered in my military travels has been relationships that I have developed with friends. Most of the people who are in my life are military wives and they are all awesome in their own way. They have each touched my life and made it better in such a fantastic way. I really do mean that. I have such great memories of them.

Friendships of any kind are a gift from God. Having a friend that understands you and loves you makes your heart feel so full and their love is simply incomparable in my mind. I spend a lot of time sharing with my friends and letting them know just how important they ar…

PRAYER FOR FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH

Most of us are struggling to pay the mortgage... Most of us are struggling to pay our children's tuition. We work hard and yet we are constantly coming up short.....
I submit to you today that all of that can change through the power of prayer and a positive attitude. I personally believe that prayer has changed the circumstances in our home.

I believe that communication, prayer and honesty within a marriage, is key to maintaining financial freedom.

Secrets tend to destroy a relationship.

So sit down today with your spouse and openly discuss all financial matters in your house. When you pray talk to God about your finances.

Here is a prayer that we use in our home.

Hope this can help to strengthen your family and enable you to be at peace concerning your finances:

PRAYER FOR FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH

Happy First birthday to the BEST GRANDSON ever....

I NEVER KNEW HOW MUCH LOVE MY HEART WOULD HOLD, UNTIL I BECAME A GRANDMOTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME....

Our family has been BLESSED with a NEW grandson. His name is Cameron and he is the most beautiful baby in the world. He has a smile that melts your heart and a laugh that is contagious. The first time I laid eyes on him, I loved him. I never knew how much love my heart could hold before our grandson was born.

We are about to celebrate his first birthday and we are excited about the AMAZING future for the newest member of the Campbell family. Look at that face....
I hold him in my arms and I remember when my own kids were small and full of wonder. Grand kids are such a blessing and I plan on spending as much time as I can spoiling this beautiful baby (Smile)

THIS WAS A PERFECT MOMENT IN TIME

We love our kids and we hold them close to our hearts, but these grand kids tug a little harder and they make you forget how to say no (Smile) Where is my brain today? Is that a good thing or am I just …

Ways to get some EXTRA CASH in your pockets

WE LOVE EXTRA CASH

I always say that I am going to have a garage sale. OK so maybe you have heard that once before. (I am a bit of a procrastinator) When I look around the garage there are tons of stuff that I could probably sale. Recently, the kids and I donated quite a bit of that stuff to the Salvation Army. I felt really good about that.

CHARITY

CHARITY

The Salvation Army is one of my favorite charities and I figured the stuff was just sitting around gathering dust. Giving back makes me feel better and I am teaching my kids how to save, volunteer, give back and honor God all at the same time. The reality is, we all can use some EXTRA CASH and the stuff laying around your house could be priceless to someone.

How much extra stuff do you have lying around the house that you never use? You could arrange the items and sell them at a Garage sale.

MAKE SOME MONEY

Before you know it, you can turn that extra stuff into cash. So today as you are going about your day, why no…

A PROUD wife reflects on the MASTER CHIEF PINNING CEREMONY OF her husband CMC PATRICK CAMPBELL

Originally posted May 4, 2011

Congratulations to my husband Patrick Campbell who has just been promoted to E-9 a Master Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy.

No words can express the love and admiration that I feel for him right now. I remember back in 2005 when I pinned his Chief anchors on, It was a special time for us as a family..….. When he was promoted to Senior Chief I cried as I thought of his career and his spiritual victories. Now in 2011, my heart beats a different beat as I will soon see my husband receive his new anchors for Master Chief.

                                  THE BEAUTIFUL CAKE

Over the years I have watched him slowly preparing for this day. The long hours and dedication has lead him into this promotion. I know that becoming a Master chief is only the beginning and this promotion will only bring out a new fire that I have seen so many times in the past…He craves it and silently he enjoys the challenge.

THAT'S MY HUSBAND THE NEW MASTER CHIEF
