NO SHOPPING LADIES...LETS INSTEAD RECYCLE FROM A FRIEND'S CLOSET

http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/

It never fails. No matter how good you feel about your body there is always a special occasion that arises when its time to go shopping for a new outfit. Come on ladies you know what I am talking about. Its time for the NAVY BALL and the KHAKI BALL... Time for me to head out and buy a new dress, OH NO!!!!!

Here comes the dreaded fitting rooms, self-esteem issues and bad attitudes. That's right, BAD ATTITUDES. No one wants to subject themselves to this type of torture. (SMILE) So this year I made a conscious decision not to buy anything new. I decided to recycle
(DID SHE JUST SAY RECYCLE)
YES..I said recycle.
Why buy a expensive dress for just one evening. The dress I wore to the last Khaki Ball I gave to my friend. Now she will have happy memories with that same dress. Using this same concept, I asked all of my friends if they had any items they were willing to donate to me. I received 3  beautiful dresses in the mail and I plan on wearing each one. No long lines, No fitting rooms....

Try this for your next big event and watch how much money you will save. These small things add up after a while.

No more looking in the mirror and feeling bad because I am a plus size woman...No way!! Now I dress myself strictly as a way to feel good, to feel sexy and vibrant.  I know that my weight and overall body shape has really changed in the past few years. Now I am comfortable with myself and I am confident...NO MORE SHOPPING NIGHTMARES.

Only happy memories with friends as we continue to help one another and recycle outfits. SO RECYCLE THOSE OLD DRESSES HANGING IN YOUR CLOSET AND LOOK AND FEEL GREAT IN THE PROCESS.

What are some of the ways you and your friends help each other out? I would love to hear some of your stories. God Bless.

  1. We love using this concept Shon! We do it also for our kids at church... all the families (or a lot of them) there pretty much pass clothes on...some shoes too...back and forth and when new little ones come around they move through the same chain, etc! Works wonders, and it really is such a blessing! :-) Since a lot of us home school, some of that material is shared as well. :-)

  4. LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH THAT I AM GOING TO "BORROW IT" IS THAT OK?

  5. We love this idea here in Illinois and we used it for our ball with such great results. Most of us are on a budget and buying a dress just for one night seems unnecessary when we have so many women networking together and sharing. What a great story Lashon.

  7. @Anonymous...Of course you can use this idea. women have been "sharing" this way for years. I just simply incorporated the concept when it comes to Navy events which require us ladies to be more formal. Also I hope it saves money!!

  12. Your posts are so practical. I have been selling clothes on Ebay for some time. I use all recycled outfits. In my lie of work we like to call it Vintage.
