Potty training my kids wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

Here at My CRAZY Life I get lots of emails and letters for various subjects. I am not sure why, but lately I have received numerous requests for opinions on potty training. That's right, Someone wants my advice (Smile) My youngest is 15 BUT I am still learning. I have three children. Two boys and a girl. Their potty training experience were so different. Here is a breakdown of each child and their individual journey of potty training.

Potty training my kids wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

For my oldest son Elijah, I used a simple technique. I would put a couple drops of food coloring in the potty. My little man would aim and was more than willing to pee on it. It worked like a charm. Elijah potty trained quickly and right around 18 months, He was all done and it was a breeze.

My daughter Lyric was totally different. She fought every step through the potty training experience. I had to negotiate every step of the way with her. She would fight with me every time I went to put a diaper on her. She also did not want to sit on the potty chair. So I told her that if she didn't want to wear diapers, she needed to go on the potty. She started going to the potty and NEVER looked back.

My youngest son Patrick was excited about wearing underwear NOT pull-ups. So I had twice as many accidents than the other two. I have to admit that it was a little harder because I had no pull-ups for backup. I remember having to take extra clothes with us whenever we left out.
