Image
http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/ I have never been one for eating healthy. OK so I am being truthful. I have always enjoyed fried chicken, cabbage, baked macaroni and cheese and the list goes on and on. I can still eat these things but over the years I have learned moderation. Being Diabetic has changed the way I look at food, prepare food and eat food.  http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/ BENEFITS OF EATING MORE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES Vegetables and fruits have ultimately changed every meal in our house. I try to eat as many fruit as I can throughout the day and incorporate my vegetables in my lunch and dinner. I have fought this from the very beginning. Its not going to happen overnight you guys (Smile) http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/ MOVING FORWARD AND NOT LOOKING BACK AT  THE  BAD HABITS I ONCE  HAD WOW, Look at that expression on my face! FINDING WAYS TO STRETCH YOUR HOUSEHOLD BUDGET   I have been a military wife for 22 years and for the past 2 years I have become a stay at home mom...The transition was not easy at first. Having two steady incomes for a family of 5 is so important. Or so I thought!  I learned that I not only had to change my shopping and spending habits, but I also had to change my way of thinking..... The first thing my husband Patrick and I did was sit down at take a real hard look at our finances. The good news is, we have never been materialistic people so our outlook looked promising. Next we took a look at our savings and really broke down every scenario that could possibly happen.  (THE REALITY IS THAT MOST FAMILIES LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK).  We are living in times when bargain shopping, Cutting coupons and swapping babysitting is a reality in most homes....  DID YOU KNOW?  DID YOU KNOW? That it is imperative that military families make sure th

Image
http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/ Hello and welcome back once again to my blog. today I want to talk about thrift stores. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping at thrift stores. I have saved tons of money for our military family by shopping frugal, clipping coupons and being prepared. I was once one of those people who NEVER wanted to go in a thrift store. I never really understood their purpose or the benefit of shopping there.  http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/ My way of thinking concerning thrift stores changed dramatically when I decided to quit my job at the hospital and become a stay-at-home mom. I had to re-think meals, bills and clothes shopping in a way that made us comfortable. Thrift store shopping is definitely not for everyone. Some people can not imagine having hand me downs. That is their own personal opinion and I respect that. This Navy wife has made the art of shopping at thrift stores a joy.  http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.bl
