My self-worth was NEVER defined by my marriage

LASHON CAMPBELL

I was married for half of my life to my ex husband Patrick. We had some good times and they were not all bad. I hold no bitterness for him and will never bad mouth him here on my blog. I admit that I was lost for a while. Well, I guess you can say that I lost myself. I was always called Chief Campbell's wife or CMC Campbell's wife. I was always proud of my husband and all of his achievements but I was never defined by him and him alone. There were so many people who thought so. And there were many people who underestimated me. There are many lessons that I had to learn. I also had to find many answers for myself. Finally, no one persons opinion mattered to me anymore. I found the strength from deep within and this girl from Chicago was ready to shine.

My self worth was never defined by my marriage. I am a USN Veteran, a mother of three and a Certified Surgical Technologist. I have struggled and have had a series of highs and lows that attempted to break me to my core. I picked myself up and I am back now stronger than ever. For those of you who love and know me...THANK YOU!

The bright light that you see all over me was once dim and almost faded out but those days are over.
I love this new me, A much stronger me and there is no looking back. No regrets from my marriage. I have the best kids who love their mama and had some good years with my ex husband. I prayed and still pray for him and his new family. So grateful of my new life today. Never felt better and my kids have never been happier. Praying for all of you still fighting your battles. Your struggle will end soon and your own light will shine once again!

I hope that you will come back daily to read my stories, look at my pictures I post and reflect on important issues that may be affecting your family right now today. I would love to hear from you here at the blog. Send me an email, or leave a message in the comment section.

  1. Thank you All for your outpouring of love, encouragement, and thoughtfulness. My heart is still beating, I'm still breathing and that's a good thing I suppose. This is just very fresh. I know that God will get me through this. Only He can. I've been getting love poured on me through all of you and my family of friends. I am so happy now. God is using His body to apply the blood where I hurt. Thank You Lord for your love, grace and mercy. I love You.
