I had a discussion today with my daughter. She is a young adult that is slowly making her mark in this world. She wears makeup. Not a lot but she does wear makeup. I use to never leave the house without my hair done and my makeup on, my fake nails and whatever else made me fill ACCEPTABLE to society. I am not judging her or anyone else for wearing make up, I simply told her that she was beautiful with or without it. 



When I was in my early twenties, I looked in the mirror and called myself names. I never thought that I was pretty. You could tel me a million times that I was and I would never believe you. One day I had someone over to work on my washer that was broken. He was a lovely man that made me laugh. As he was working on my washer, We talked about God. He said to me, "How can we idolize God, when we are so busy idolizing ourselves."  It took me a few minutes to let those words sink in. That was over twenty years ago and I never forgot those words. I shared that memory with my daughter and she had tears in her eyes. It really knocked me off my feet. I wanted my daughter to know that she is beautiful with OR without makeup. This society places way to much emphasis on stuff like that. I have natural hair, I don't pile on makeup and I no longer get those artificial nails that I loved so much! I gave it all up for God. God told me that He thinks I am beautiful and He loves me just the way I am. Thank you Jesus.
