As parents we do all we can to keep our children headed in the right direction. Because life is so unpredictable, we can sometimes have a few bumps in the road. That is exactly what happened to my son Elijah. He has been through a lot and he has emerged stronger than ever. He has got control of his life in so many amazing ways. In these past couple of years I have seen such growth and such maturity in his everyday actions. Today I sit here and write this note to him because he is my son and I am so proud of him. I have to thank God for ALL that has happened in my life. Both good and bad. I constantly give thanks for the times when I was broken. I know that is confusing to some but I believe that through those broken times, God gave me an opportunity to serve Him. Yes, to serve him! I have been through a lot in my 48 years. I know for a fact that God has done his BEST work through my brokenness. When I was down I learned so much about my own strengths and weaknesses. I truly believe that you can not help others if you can't place yourself in their shoes. Ask yourself, have you been in their place? Once you've walked a stretch of time in someone's shoes, Its then that you are able to really understand where they are coming from. So I say, Thank you father. My tears are
