It was almost four years ago when my son Patrick auditioned for Douglas Anderson School of the Arts here in Jacksonville Florida. Boy was that a great time. He was so excited and he was so nervous. I remember posting a story on my Facebook page asking for prayer. I asked for all of my readers to say a prayer because he had his auditions.

This is a picture of him that day and I still remember him grabbing my arm and saying that he was nervous. I remember pulling the truck over and praying with him. I wanted him to know that he had the talent already to be there. Now through prayer, he was fully equipped to do his best. the prayer and the pep talk seemed to work and he walked into his audition with his head up. My baby boy Patrick. That evening when we returned back home, He received a lot of positive emails, phone calls and posts giving him inspiring words of love and of encouragement.

We were so excited about the prospect that maybe he would get accepted. We went to the auditions and there were so many talented kids there. I said a prayer for him and we waited with anticipation. I sat there as Patrick left and went to his audition. Boy was I nervous!
Now, four years later I get to share my joy once again as he is about to graduate from Douglas Anderson. God is so good.

He worked so hard to get into this school and now I am so excited about the road that he is about to embark on. He is such a special young man and has such a HUGE HEART. This guy! I have had a really tough few weeks and have not felt my best. I made every rehearsal and saw my baby boy perform in Tampa and his Concerto this year. When I was feeling bad he sat with me and he made me food and insisted that I rest. Maybe no big deal to some. BUT I as his mother recognize that the goodness in his heart can only be contributed to the foundation that was laid since he was just a baby boy. I love him so much!

As his Mama, I have to tell you this has been a great story to watch. Seeing him start playing his trumpet as a young boy and now he is a young man. Yes, a young man. He is actually growing a beard. (Smile) My baby! I ask for prayers for my son. Take a moment and say a prayer for our family as well. We know that this is not going to be easy. Through prayer we know that he can handle this new step that he is taking. The whole process is just so exciting. Do you have a child that is about to leave home or graduate? If so, I would love to hear from you right here at the blog. Please SHARE your story here on my blog and maybe it will inspire someone. Until then, I will be praying for you.
