Many families spend a lot of time in the summer at outdoor public pools. Even though there is much fun in splashing around the pool, there are also some tips to prevent injury or even death. Since the weather here in Cuba is primarily HOT followed by more HOT...We spend quite a bit of our time at the base pool. I have found that taking the kids to the pool keeps them happy and offers them some much needed relief from the heat.

HELPFUL TIPS TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE:

1.Talk to your children about pool safety before coming to the pool.

 2.Make sure your community pool is equipped with a trained       lifeguard.

 3.Before your children even get in the pool, Ensure that they are familiar with where the deep end of the pool starts.

 4.Watch your children. And Never leave them unattended.

 5.Wear appropriate sun block



REMEMBER that we have to keep a watchful eye on our children and keep them safe. Enjoy the pool and enjoy that time with your family. God Bless.

    I was at the pool at my housing complex and a young girl about 10 years old was alone..No parents. I was shocked.

    Thanks everyone for reading this very important Blog entry. We as parents have to keep an eye on our kids. @Anonymous, unfortunately some kids are not attended but I try really hard to look out for one s that may not be accompanied as much as possible. If my kids were alone at the pool, I pray that someone will also keep an eye on them.
