PEACEFUL MORNINGS WATCHING THE SUN RISE
I recently moved to a beautiful place called Guantanamo Bay Cuba. I decided before even reporting here, that I would use the time here to bring our family closer together. I feel as though we were already close, but as the children are getting older, I find it harder to find activities that appeal to all of us. My husband is FINALLY on shore duty so that means this is uninterrupted FAMILY TIME......So no time here in Guantanamo will go in vain.....NO WAY!!! I plan on using every passing moment here doing family activities or at least activities which I feel might bring us closer together. (SMILE)
When we first got here, we all walked TOGETHER AS A FAMILY...Boy was that a big mistake. Four different people PLUS a dog. BIG MISTAKE.....Four different ideas of what WALKING truly entailed. It just did not work well for us. I took off one day alone trying to find a pace that was best suited for me. When I walked alone I realized...I LIKED IT. I liked walking alone. So family time together at Guantanamo Bay DOES NOT include walking together. (SMILE)
Almost every morning I take off with my IPHONE and I head out for a power walk. I walk because I found that it relaxes me and makes me feel closer to God.

WATCHING THE SUN RISE AT GTMO
Every morning as the sun begins to rise...I feel so peaceful.
As I have embarked on my walking I have begun to realize that I have more patience throughout the day... The kids have noticed a change in their mother.... My youngest son Patrick says I smile more. I hope I smile more because I have never been happier.

Whether its walking, running , drawing or maybe even gardening. Whatever makes you feel calm, peaceful and closer to God... ReplyDeleteI am just sitting here looking at these beautiful photos. I am in disbelief. What a beautiful thing to witness. And to jsut think, you have the ability to see the sun rise on any given day...People should really slow down in their daily lives and take moretime to experience all of the beauty here that God has given to us....Thanks for sharing your story and these wonderful pictures.

ReplyDeleteBrittany.....I have not lost a lot of weight....The weight loss at first was mostly water weight and could be seen mostly in my face. Now I am gaining weight...Muscle weight. But ..I still enjoy walking. I appreciate your interest in my blog Brittany. God Bless!

It seems as though every time I pray that God please send me an answer to something, you always seem to post something in your blog that is just for me. THANK YOU FATHER!!!
