OCTOBER 3RD IS CHILD HEALTH DAY

TODAY IS CHILD HEALTH DAY and nothing is more important than the health of our children.
I wanted to take a few minutes to describe some key points on this day. First of all, CHILD HEALTH DAY is not a national public holiday, instead it is simply a national Observance that raises awareness.

On Child Health Day, we try to focus on teaching our children the benefits of good health.

Not only teaching them about GOOD HEALTH PRACTICES but also informing and teaching parents how they to can also help and protect their children with good nutrition in their home.

With ACTIVITIES which get kids from in front of the television and also to get kids in the routine of having year round fitness and exercise.

The CHILD HEALTH DAY was proclaimed back in 1928 by Calvin Coolidge. He wanted to increase awareness of health issues facing the children in the U.S. including health issues, healthy eating, fitness, child's development, immunizations, preventing injuries, and more.

So today take a little time to see if you can better influence good eating habits and fitness with your own children.

  3. When I went into the kitchen last night, my daughter was eating celery and peanut butter. Now, I was eating a bag of doritos with a nice cold Soda....She looked at my chips and went on to tell me all about the lesson they learned in school for Health day about healthy eating. I had to laugh. I read this posting earlier then I saw her eating so healthy and I made a promise to myself that I would do more to be a better role model for my daughter.
Even though I picked the Doritos, she still chose a healthy alternative. These kids today are the real teachers...LOL
