TEACHING MY KIDS THE IMPORTANCE OF RECYCLING...OR ARE THEY TEACHING ME?

RECYCLE WITH YOUR KIDS

Before moving here to Guantanamo Bay, I have to admit, the Campbell Family did little or no recycling. Even though I am embarrassed to admit that sad fact...
I can honestly say I KNOW BETTER so now I AM DOING BETTER. We started by going over the basics with the kids. We talked to them about the importance of recycling and how their work will aid in a better world. That is when I realized that my kids were ready and eager to start immediately.
LYRIC AND PATRICK

The first thing we did was recycle old toys that the kids had not used. We spent the entire day going through the old toys and then donated the unwanted items to the Thrift store. This took a long time but I kept telling my children that giving is so rewarding.

We also Collected cans and plastic bottles for recycling. This whole process is teaching the kids THE IMPORTANCE OF RECYCLING and the bigger lesson here is the kids are learning that their choices are impacting and saving the environment one item at a time..

I AM SO PROUD of all the work that my two children are doing here in Guantanamo Bay saving the environment and teaching me a valuable lesson in the process. God Bless.
