When we first moved to Guantanamo Bay Cuba, the kids and I had never been fishing before...Look I am a city girl form the west side of Chicago. I was always like...


ME FISHING FOR THE FIRST TIME

WHAT IS FISHING?


I mean I had never even gone near a dead fish, let alone one that was moving around on a fishing line.


( yuck)

THE SMELL WAS SO GROSS










When It was my turn to throw my rod in the water I had my eyes closed and felt nausea at the smell of the octopus that we were using for bait...








FATHER AND SON ENJOYING THE DAY


Since my husband Patrick loves fishing, boating and snorkeling here in Cuba, we headed out to try fishing for the first time. The kids loved fishing and they each were able to catch fish.


INITIALLY, I HAD LOTS OF ANXIETY ABOUT BEING OUT ON A BOAT AND FISHING, BUT AFTER A WHILE I BEGAN TO RELAX AND ENJOY OUR FAMILY TIME TOGETHER.

MY DAUGHTER LYRIC DID A AWESOME JOB


My daughter Lyric jumped right in and made fishing look so easy. She caught three fish in less than 45 minutes.

I was able to catch some fish and spend the entire afternoon alone with my husband and two of my kids...PRICELESS. I pray that you will find a activity this weekend that allows you to step out of the normal routine.

    I am so happy here in Cuba. My husband and I try everyday to spend as much time as possible with our children. Although this is difficult with the both of us working such long hours, we try to make our weekends our own. Step out on faith this weekend and do something that the kids enjoy...And allow yourself a unique opportunity to hear your children's laughter. God Bless you all!!!
