A received a BEAUTIFUL reminder in my mailbox…. 


I RECEIVED A BEAUTIFUL POSTCARD

I went to my mailbox this morning and received a postcard from a wife here in Jacksonville. She thanked me for the pep talk and the reminder of how GREAT our God is.

The military wife that wrote this letter was referring to a speech that I had given to a small group of military wives. The focus of the event was to bring awareness to young military couples that are struggling financially. I can not stop smiling because I just love receiving mail the "OLD FASHIONED" way. A hand written note/letter means so much more to me. (Smile)

I have been a navy spouse for over 20 years and I have also served in the Navy on active duty. So over the years I have been in the midst of many struggles. Finances have a huge impact on marriages and if these young couples are not careful, it can and will disease their marriages. My emphasis on this day was simply THE BASICS. I want to ENCOURAGE young wives that this is the time to RETURN back to the basics of the bible. Reminders of bible verses, ways to save money and finally we also discussed programs that could help support the success of their families. 

All the information I provided had worked for me in the past. So I felt like this was a unique way to share these truths with other wives. I know that Each family and each story is unique so these steps taken may not work for every family. But what a way to spend the morning empowering and motivating one another. We had a great time and again, I simply reminded all of the Navy spouses to stay encouraged. Even though many of their finances seem unchangeable, I reminded each of them that God will open doors and make provision in the problem areas of their marriages.

Keep talking about your finances and remember to stay POSITIVE and KEEP PRAYING. Are you having a difficult season in your marriage? TRUST IN GOD TODAY! 

You cannot ignore the open doors that God will provide in your marriage. He will help you in many ways and lead you and your spouse down the right path to financial freedom. That is part of why mentoring is so important to me.

GOD WILL GUIDE YOUR STEPS CONCERNING YOUR FINANCES

Helping other military spouses has always been my goal. Now that I am able to spend more time in fellowship, I know that God has guided my steps and led me on this path. 

So in closing, If you see people in your community that need to be uplifted, then I ENCOURAGE you today to reach out! Let’s continue to support one another and pursue our purpose. It’ll be hard work, but God will give us the tools we need to be successful.
