SENDING my son Patrick off to school TODAY with Prayers AND Love

http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/

Good morning all. Its a BEAUTIFUL day here in sunny Florida and I have the distinct pleasure of waving goodbye to my son Patrick as he heads to his school bus. I know what you are thinking...What is so excting about waving to your son?  (Smile) Well, I am I am pretty excited this morning because he is heading to High School. Yes, I am such a proud parent today. I am happier than ever that he has reached this new milestone. You see, Patrick is the youngest of our kids so I guess I knew I would have these feelings. The truth is, he will always be my baby. YES, I did call him my baby. I find it hard to stop calling him my baby BUT he keeps reminding me that he is 14 years old. I ask myself, "Where did the time go?"

This is that rare time when parents have kids big enough to do most things themselves. My kids are now driving, car pooling and developing friendships that draw them away from home more and more. Most people would cringe at the idea of their children getting older and becoming more independent....NOT ME.

I am excited about this new chapter where my husband and I will find MORE alone time and MORE time to re-connect as a couple. I will still PRAY for my son Patrick, BUT now my prayers will evolve to cover him and his friends when he is away from home. Are you going through a similar situation with your teenager? I would love to hear about it. So Don't cry and understand that this is not the time to be sad. INSTEAD, be excited about this new season. I pray that this season of change in your life will bring new reflection and a deeper relationship with God.

BACK TO SCHOOL MEANS A SHIFT IN YOUR SCHEDULE AS WELL AS YOUR WAY OF THINKING. THIS COULD BE THE BEST TIME TO STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND TRY SOMETHING THAT YOU NEVER HAD TIME FOR BEFORE. MAYBE YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER AT YOUR CHURCH OR A COMMUNITY SHELTER. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT TO WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE NOW THAT YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME TO "REFLECT".

My son Patrick has grown so beautifully right in front of our eyes. This PROUD mama is over-joyed that he chose this path. So I cry just a few tears this morning for my baby that is becoming a young man, BUT I smile with playful anticipation at the prospect that NOW I will have MORE time with my husband Patrick. And you know what, I am really looking forward to this new stage where we will step back a Little bit and see this young man step into his destiny and watch our marital bond grow stronger.

Are you reaching a new stage in your life? How are your children adapting? Whatever stage you find yourself in today, Prepare with prayer and a POSITIVE attitude so that there will be NO worries. That makes me smile. Have a good day and remember that I will be praying for you.

I would love to hear from you here at the blog. Send me an email, or leave a message in the comment section.

  1. Hello everyone. I love my children and I am so proud of each one of them. Through the years I have documented their first day of school and it makes my heart smile....One of the greatest responsibilities of us as mothers is to love and teach our children. So keep doing what you are doing and do not grow weary, INSTEAD be encouraged that all of the things you taught them is safely planted in their hearts. God Bless you all.
