Talking about God with my Teenage Daughter

http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/

Good morning to you all. what a beautiful morning it is here in Florida. I had a wonderful time with my daughter Lyric yesterday. I spent the day with her and we did a lot of talking. the topic was self- worth and loving yourself. I was so glad to have this time alone with her and even more excited to talk with her about such important topics.

 I started the conversation off
talking about God and how much
that God loves her. I said to her,
"Lyric, God knew you before you
were born. He planned you. And
you my beautiful daughter are
NOT an accident."

I let her know that the images
she sees on the television are
just that, IMAGES.

I let her know that her father
and I love her and share a
common goal and that is to
 support her in everything
that she does.

I let her know that she can
 be and do ANYTHING that
her heart desires.

I spend as much time as I can with her preparing her for the road ahead. She will be leaving soon to attend college. Praying that our precious time together has given her all the tools she need to be successful.....

Boy, I enjoyed our conversation. I believe that it is the best one that we have had yet. I was amazed at how candidly she talked with me and how she instinctively referred to her bible in the midst of our talk. This mama is so PROUD of her attitude and how she loves our Lord and Savior.

Her love for God shines in everything that she does. From the way she treats her brothers, to the ways she honors her father and I. At the age of 17, She has blossomed into a strong fearless woman.

I keep reminding her that
God is not finished with
her yet!

I had a really good talk with her. What about you? In what ways are you talking with your own children? Are you sharing God's word through your day to day actions? I hope you are trusting God that your kids will hear his voice, Until then, I will be praying for you.

I would love to hear from you here at the blog. Send me an email, or leave a message in the comment section.
