What MEMORIAL DAY means to me...

http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/

I CHOOSE TO REMEMBER

THE WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY DESCRIBES THE WORD "MEMORIAL" AS "SOMETHING THAT KEEPS REMEMBRANCE ALIVE." THIS WEEKEND I WILL REMEMBER......

I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS 18 YEARS OLD JOINING THE NAVY.... SO YOUNG AND SO PATRIOTIC.... I TRAVELED MANY PLACES AND I SAW MANY THINGS.... I HAVE LAUNCHED AND RECOVERED AIRCRAFT.... I HAVE FLOWN IN A H-60B WATCHING THE SUN RISE, SO BEAUTIFUL... I HAVE WATCHED A PLANE CATAPULT OFF THE DECK OF A CARRIER.... ALL THESE THINGS ARE ETCHED INTO ME AS I REFLECT THIS MEMORIAL DAY. YET, AS I REMEMBER ALL THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT ENCOMPASSED MY NAVAL CAREER, I HAVE TO ALSO STOP AND REMEMBER THOSE THAT ARE NO LONGER HERE......

http://mycrazylifeasanavywife.blogspot.com/

MEMORIAL DAY IS A DAY OF REFLECTION AND WE MUST ALL CHOOSE TO REMEMBER.... LET'S CHOOSE TO REMEMBER ALL OF THOSE SOLDIERS WHO HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES SO THAT WE CAN ALL HAVE OUR FREEDOM, LET'S REMEMBER THOSE SOLDIERS WHO CAME HOME WOUNDED FROM WAR.
(SOME WITH INJURIES THAT YOU AND I CAN NOT SEE WITH THE NAKED EYE).

AND LET'S ALSO REMEMBER ALL OF THE CIVILIANS WHO HAVE FALLEN SO THAT I MAY SIT HERE THIS AFTERNOON ON MY PATIO.....

AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE BRAVE SOLDIERS HERE AND OVERSEAS WHO ARE STILL SERVING THIS GREAT COUNTRY. THEY ARE ALL BRAVE AND THEIR SACRIFICE AND DEDICATION IS NOT LOST HERE AT HOME THIS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.

  1. Have a great Day.......There are many meaningful ways to observe and learn about Memorial Day, and to honor those who have died in our nation’s service.
Our family will go to a memorial Day tribute at 7AM..What will you do today?...Maybe, Take a moment this year to place flowers and a flag on the grave of a beloved military service person... Visit a national monument or cemetery, or simply take a moment at three in the afternoon to be grateful for those who have given their lives for our country, those who have made the ultimate sacrifice....God Bless

  2. Like many holidays, Memorial Day means different things to different people. This is what Memorial day means to me. I love god and this country (Smile) I’ll have my American flag flying, and I will take the time to pause and think about those that sacrificed for me and my family, and for the rest of us that wouldn’t or couldn’t. God Bless all members of our military....
