My divorce marks the end of a painful season and a step into a NEW one!

LASHON CAMPBELL

My divorce marks the end of a painful season and a step into a NEW one! It means trusting God like I never had before. I still have people who are SHOCKED that we are actually divorced. Even after all this time! I offer no explanation for our decision to divorce. Our only concern has been to keep our children as safe as possible. I do not regret my marriage, oh no. Even though I was never in a hurry to get married to Patrick. We both had some really major things going on around us back then. I do believe that the both of us were really happy being single, but we complimented each other in so many ways and decided to become one.

We were both independent yet we felt a great deal of love for one another. Our strength as independents only contributed to our union. Patrick and I found one another in Jacksonville, North Carolina and we fell in love and then we were married.

I can honestly tell you that we shared good times and we raised some amazing children together. The memories are not all bad. You have to find goodness in all things (Smile) We have to find the goodness in those memories in order to move forward. And we did! We are BOTH in great relationships and our divorce marks the end of a painful season and a big step into our new lives separate but happy.

That is real courage! Getting up each morning after a painful divorce and putting your clothes on. Getting up and moving forward when it feels like your heart is shattered in a million pieces. WOW! If you are in a painful season and your spirit feel crushed, Do not stay in this pain. I know that you are brokenhearted but God is the courage you need to move forward. He will hold you and lift you just as he did my ex-husband Patrick and myself. He held us both up and enabled us to continue breathing. I pray that these few words will be the catalyst to get you moving forward. Be strong and step into your new season. Until then, I will be praying for you.

I hope that you will come back daily to read my stories, look at my pictures I post and reflect on important issues that may be affecting your family right now today. I would love to hear from you here at the blog. Send me an email, or leave a message in the comment section.

  1. It doesn't really matter who you used to be, what matters is who you've become.
