A special note for my oldest son Elijah as he continues to get his life back on track! As parents we do all we can to keep our children headed in the right direction. Because life is so unpredictable, we can sometimes have a few bumps in the road. That is exactly what happened to my son Elijah. He has been through a lot and he has emerged stronger than ever. He has got control of his life in so many amazing ways. In these past couple of years I have seen such growth and such maturity in his everyday actions. Today I sit here and write this note to him because he is my son and I am so proud of him.

Elijah,
Wanted to say how much mommy loves you. My baby boy, you are 25 and you such a joy. I have always wanted the best for you and as your mother I have constantly tried to be a good example for you. This morning I watched you get your GED documents together. I asked what you were doing and you explained that maybe you would try to go back to school. Thank you father. What great news that was. I have always wanted the best for you. I don't want you to be like me. I want you to be like you. A better me than you could ever be. Well done my son on all of your achievements! I love you and I'm proud of you. You make me being a mommy look good I know this is not the end, but the beginning of more blessings for you. Continue to stay focused, work hard at your job and love people from the heart. I love you son! Love, mom

I tell my son Elijah everyday that When God gives you a “no”, give Him a “thank you”.. He was protecting you from less than His best. Keep staying on the right track son. I love you.
