WALK INS are ALWAYS welcome at your Local THRIFT Store

Hello and welcome back once again to my blog. today I want to talk about thrift stores. I LOVE LOVE LOVE shopping at thrift stores. I have saved tons of money for our military family by shopping frugal, clipping coupons and being prepared. I was once one of those people who NEVER wanted to go in a thrift store. I never really understood their purpose or the benefit of shopping there.

My way of thinking concerning thrift stores changed dramatically when I decided to quit my job at the hospital and become a stay-at-home mom. I had to re-think meals, bills and clothes shopping in a way that made us comfortable. Thrift store shopping is definitely not for everyone. Some people can not imagine having hand me downs. That is their own personal opinion and I respect that. This Navy wife has made the art of shopping at thrift stores a joy.

Most Saturdays you will find me around Jacksonville or St. Augustine Florida thrift shopping. My absolute best place is Salvation Army but my love for Goodwill is a close second. I really feel great supporting my local thrift stores because of all the great programs that they offer my community.

I look forward to two things on the weekend and that's spending time with my family and the shopping at thrift stores. When you don't have a lot of money to splurge with, Head over to a thrift store in your area and see what all the fuss is about. I have saved a substantial amount of money over the years by thrifty shopping.

Many military families are faced with major financial problems due to over-spending and stretching their budgets in unrealistic directions. The solution is not just the thrift store, its a new way of thinking. I simply find that if you cut back on several areas of your budget, it frees up for more savings and absolute PEACE of mind.

There are 5 benefits that I find solace in when I shop at thrift stores:
1. I am helping the community in
which I live.
2. I feel less stress and less
pressure when I am SHOPPING at a thrift store.
3. Finding treasures and fixing
them up is quite satisfying and
saves money.

4. I am teaching my children that
"NEW" is not always better and
that saving should always be a
priority.
5. A better relationship with my
husband. We no longer have
any disputes about money,
ONLY on ways I have saved him
money.

I pray that you are finding ways to stretch the money in your budget. There is always a way to do things better so keep trying and find what brings you JOY. Until next time God Bless and I will be praying for you.
