I have to remind myself that he is NOT a baby anymore

Hello and good morning to all of you. I want to say thank you for praying for my son Patrick as he recovers. I Am asking that everyone will continue to pray as he recovers. God is so good and he is feeling better today. Just in case you missed my post, My son was really sick recently! I shared how I felt helpless as his mother and how he reminded me that he was not a baby anymore...

But even though he is 15 and a young man, when he is sick, He is STILL my baby. My 15 year old son Patrick is my baby. He knows it, I know it and I am telling the world that as loud as I can! His injuries were a direct result of him Playing that trumpet. Day in and day out of wear and tear on his mouth had him sidelined. I explained to him how sometimes the constant practicing and performing could take its toll on my young trumpet player. He woke up with swollen lips, A sore inner jaw and a terrible headache. So this mama has not left his side.

Father I just want to THANK YOU for covering my son Patrick today. I was so worried about him and he very rarely gets sick. I was so annoyed because I could not take his pain away. Seeing him so sick is not a moment that I would like to see again. I had to pray for his strength and my own because I felt helpless. He was so worried about a performance that was coming up and I had to be strong and let him know that his healing and recovery was the PRIORITY right now. I took a moment in the doctor's office and I said a prayer to God. In the middle of my helplessness God reminded me that his injuries to his mouth could have been a lot worse.

I thank you Father for these reminders

I just want him to get better.
I have not seen him in pain like
that for such a long time

So as we head back home, God I thank you for allowing the outcome to only be rest and no trumpet playing for a while. Please keep my baby boy Patrick in prayer. He doesn't want to miss a day playing his Trumpet and as his Mama, I want him to be healed!

Has one of your children recently suffered a injury? If so, I would love to hear how you triumphed through the helplessness and FOCUSED on their recovery. Until then, I will be praying for you.

I would love to hear from you here at the blog. Send me an email, or leave a message in the comment section.

  1. This is Patrick and he is my 15 year old...My Baby! The truth is, He will always be my baby. He is 15 and I love him just as if it was the first day I saw him in the hospital. As the tears are welling up in my eyes, I sit here and thank God for the close relationship that has developed with me and my baby boy. He is such a blessing to me.

God has blessed me with some WONDERFUL people in my life!

God has blessed me with WONDERFUL friends

Have you ever stopped for a moment and said a thank you to God for all the wonderful people that he has placed in your life. I truly believe that you should. At least remind yourself of these blessings as often as possible. God has really blessed me to know some WONDERFUL people in my life.

One of the GREATEST joys I have encountered in my military travels has been relationships that I have developed with friends. Most of the people who are in my life are military wives and they are all awesome in their own way. They have each touched my life and made it better in such a fantastic way. I really do mean that. I have such great memories of them.

Friendships of any kind are a gift from God. Having a friend that understands you and loves you makes your heart feel so full and their love is simply incomparable in my mind. I spend a lot of time sharing with my friends and letting them know just how important they ar…

Happy First birthday to the BEST GRANDSON ever....

Our family has been BLESSED with a NEW grandson. His name is Cameron and he is the most beautiful baby in the world. He has a smile that melts your heart and a laugh that is contagious. The first time I laid eyes on him, I loved him. I never knew how much love my heart could hold before our grandson was born.

We are about to celebrate his first birthday and we are excited about the AMAZING future for the newest member of the Campbell family. Look at that face....
I hold him in my arms and I remember when my own kids were small and full of wonder. Grand kids are such a blessing and I plan on spending as much time as I can spoiling this beautiful baby (Smile)

We love our kids and we hold them close to our hearts, but these grand kids tug a little harder and they make you forget how to say no (Smile) Where is my brain today? Is that a good thing or am I just …

The quicker you get rid of things that are bringing you down, the faster God can propel you into your purpose!

The quicker you get rid of things that are bringing you down, the faster God can propel you into your purpose! I would honestly rather be single than be with the wrong person, I see so many people unhappy in their relationships and constantly complaining about it. Its that time folks. Time to look at your life and the direction in which its going. I ask you, Why would you stay in a unhealthy, unhappy and destructive relationship. Life is way too short to fake happiness. I don't know about you, but I want the absolute REAL deal. Today make a promise to love yourself like never before. Only date individuals that you can be happy sitting in silence with. (Smile) Very important. Find someone who loves God, Someone that you’re excited to see, And a person that respects you and knows your worth.

Get rid of all of the drama and start fresh with someone that makes you feel special. That my friends is a great feeling. Right now I am so happy and filled w…

Two people can actually get divorced and STILL find happiness with someone else. Let's continue to pray for our ex-spouses!

Two people can actually get divorced and STILL find happiness with someone else. Let's continue to pray for our ex-spouses! Each day I make a conscious effort to say a prayer for my ex-husband Patrick. We both are happy and have moved on to happy and healthy new relationships. What a joy it is to be this happy and so at peace. Thank you father. So here I am two years later still explaining the dissolution of our marriage. Telling my story will hopefully help others going through a time that takes so much of your energy.

I get lots of questions about my divorce and I understand the interest. I will do my best to answer every email and letter that I receive from you all. The best way to describe my past relationship with Patrick is to leave the personal accounts personal and to simply say that, The man I spent half of my life with will always be treasured in my heart. I pray that you understand how that is necess…

I remind my children each day to recognize their hard work and be proud of their achievements – no matter how big or how small!

I remind my children each day to recognize their hard work and be proud of their achievements – no matter how big or how small! As parents we are always proud of the achievements of our children. That is true here in my household. I have three very different and very diverse children. First there is my son Elijah. Elijah is 25 years old. He is a talented artist, musician and works at Golden Coral. He has had trouble in his past but has fought really hard to get back on track. I am so proud of him. Then there is my daughter Lyric. She is 20 years old and is a junior at FAMU in Tallahassee.
She is smart, beautiful and wants to be a teacher. She has slowly grown into a phenomenal young woman. I am so proud of her as well. Finally there is my youngest son Patrick. He is a senior in high school here in Jacksonville. He attends Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and plays the trumpet. He is humble, caring and has become a fine young man that respects and…
