Simple things means so much to me!
PATRICK CAMPBELL |
Good morning all and welcome back to my blog. This blog post is designed especially for you. Do you bake? And if so, Do you bake with your children? Today was a really good day for me. I decided to make some homemade chocolate chip cookies. Its been a while and I really wanted to try this new recipe that I got off the internet.
Anyway, my son Patrick was over visiting but he did not participate in the baking. At the age of 21 there are so many other things that he would prefer doing (Smiling) It did however, allow me some time to talk with him one on one. I love it! I LOVE talking with the kids and getting them to open up about so many things. I find its imperative for me to keep talking even when there are no words at first. I just want them to express themselves and share anything that is troubling them or just a quick run down on their daily activities.

Its tough when your kids are older they do not need you as much. Correction, They believe that they do not need you as much. (Smiling) Regardless of all that, baking these cookies today was a really relaxing and freeing experience for me. Like I said. Its really the simple things that bring me joy.

It was a great day for me as a mother and I treasure days like today. My baby boy is about to turn 22 and although I have few moments like this...It still never changes how excited each minute with my kids gives me.
I PRAY that you are making magical moments with your own family as well. I would love for you to SHARE in the comment section. Until then, I will be praying for you.
