Humbled by the continued sacrifices of American heroes to ensure freedom and liberty for our great country! I love watching soldiers returning home to their families. I am a veteran and I appreciate the love and support that many people here at home give to our military.


I live in Jacksonville Florida and I see on a daily basis lots of homeless Veterans. I often wonder to myself, What happened to SUPPORT our troops? Does that also mean our homeless veterans. If you have difficulty understanding the hardship of veterans adjusting to civilian life, try it sometime. You may become more empathetic. I am a veteran and I have experienced homelessness myself. There is a big misconception in this country that if you are homeless, you are some kind of addict. REALLY? I tell you that is not true. 



Our veterans are heroes and deserve so much more. I am just one person. I do what I can. I give out simple hygiene care packages on my own time with my own money. They simply consist of soap, deodorant, toothbrush, comb, brush razors and a personal note from me. I know its not a big thing but it helps. 
Our veterans deserve respect and dignity. All I ask is that you take a minute to hear their story. If you see one today, ask them how they are doing. Share a bottle of water with them and maybe give them hope. These veterans have put themselves in the line of fire for us, and some of them have gotten wounded emotionally AND physically. Thank you for listening today. Praying that we find a way to help them. I am open to suggestions from anyone out there. Blessings!
